my journey so far

Hey all,

So this is me - a little out of my comfort zone - but happily connecting with my friends and happy to be sharing my story.

As many of you know, this past year was a year of giant change for me (the family). We sold our house of many years, moved across town and are setting the stage for even more change.  We found an amazing loft with room for my painting  studio and are throwing ourselves into our new world.

But these changes didn’t happen overnight and many of you have been along for the ride.  I have been painting for most of my life.  I have studied art.  Moved to Italy as part of OCADU.  And somehow managed to keep my brushes at the ready.

Way back when, I made a promise to myself.  I would not pursue my art passion but rather just keep it warm on the side as we raised our family and worked hard at our “corporate” jobs.  And the story that I told myself was that when the kids were launched, I would turn my energy back to my art.  About a year and a half ago, I realized that the kids were off and running  and it was time to take a good hard look in the mirror and decide if I was going to pursue my passion or let the light go out.

So first things first, I mapped out a plan.  I laid out my vision and the steps to start moving forward.

I actually started showing people my art.  Something I may have not shared with many of you.  I joined an artist community ( I am now on the board). I hosted an art show at our house - which may or may not have been mostly about wine and friends.  I submitted my work for art exhibits and participated in a number of shows.

This year is a focus not only on the art but the business of art.  Stay tuned for my random updates

I have so appreciated everyone’s support and kindness.  Truly inspiring.  And as part of my journey, I am building an email list to continue to share my art and my progress. Any thoughts and feedback are always welcome.

Art is life my friends.
